7 Things You Should Know About Me

1. I am a stay-at-home Mama to the world’s most magical little boy -- a little boy who was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

2. My husband and I were married at a drive-thru chapel in Las Vegas. I fall more in love with him every day (well, almost every day).

3. I am a feminist.

4. I love any and all things “girly”: sequins, sparkles, make-up, shoes, the color pink.

5. I have a Master’s Degree in Literary Studies, and I am currently working towards getting my TESOL Certification (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), so that I can start private tutoring from my home.

6. I love to travel; I am the person I am today because of the time I spent in South Africa.

7. I am originally from Chicago, became an adult in Charleston IL, and currently live in Kuwait.

  4. Ok, Laura Meyer, how about two more: 8. I had pet rats in college. 9. I like absinthe a little too much. I'm pretty sure that is all I can share publicly. ;)

  6. I had a pet rat in fifth grade. Her name was Pip Squeak and she was awesome! And wow, Kuwait! Cool. My husband has spent some time there (he is retired army).

    1. Kristi,
How funny that you had a pet rat, too! I thought we were the only ones (we used to go to the pet shops and "save" them from being snake food). Such good little pets. And, yes, Liam and I have been living in Kuwait for almost a year now, but my husband has been out here working for the past five years. Liam and I had to stay in the states to get all of his surgeries/therapies taken care of, and we finally got out here around the time he turned two and a half. We'll be here for one more year, and then back to the States we go!
Hope you have a great weekend.

  7. I just read Liam 101. Wow. What a strong, amazing little boy you have there. I'm sure being his mom has made you a stronger, better person, too, tapping into strength you didn't know you had.
I'll certainly be following to see what Life has in store for you all.
I'm especially curious to know how you went from living in Illinois to South Africa to Kuwait.
And a drive-thru wedding in Vegas? You, ma'am, are leading an interesting life!
